Returns & Refunds Policy
If something isn't quite right, here's how returns and refunds work at Dear.December.
Eligible returns
We accept eligible returns within 7 days of delivery, in accordance with applicable South African consumer law.
For qualifying online purchases, customers have a statutory seven-day cooling-off period from receipt of the goods.
Change of mind
For change-of-mind returns, products should be unused, in their original condition and packaging, where reasonably possible.
Certain products, including personalised items and specific hygiene or personal care products, may be excluded from change-of-mind returns where permitted by law.
These conditions do not limit your statutory rights.
Personalised & custom orders
Products personalised or made specifically to your requirements may not be eligible for change-of-mind returns or cancellation once production has commenced.
This includes personalised Christmas decorations, custom gifts and other bespoke items.
Your statutory rights remain protected if an item is defective, damaged or does not match the agreed specifications.
Return shipping costs
Customers may be responsible for return shipping costs on change-of-mind returns, where permitted by law.
Where products are defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied, return costs will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Damaged, defective or incorrect products
If your order arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
This protection is separate from the seven-day cooling-off period. Under the Consumer Protection Act, goods that are defective or unsafe may be returned within six months of delivery, and qualifying products will be repaired, replaced or refunded, at no additional cost where required.
Refunds
Approved refunds will be processed through an appropriate secure payment method within applicable legal timeframes.
For qualifying cancellations under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, refunds will be processed within 30 days of cancellation.
Before you return anything
Please contact us with your order number before returning an item so we can assist with the process.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under applicable South African consumer legislation.
